About the Author: Leon Trotsky (1879) (pseud. Lev Davidovich Bronstein) At Nineteen he was sent to Siberia for belonging to a Marxist group. He escaped and befriended Lenin whom he helped organize the 1917 Russian Revolution.
After Lenin’s death in 1924, Stalin and Trotsky were the power ended with Trotsky being imprisoned and then exiled from Russia in 1929. he was murdered in Mexico, in 1949, at Stalin’s instigation. Trotsky believed in world revolution, and was an uncompromising, if liberal, idealist.
